COMMUNITY COMMITMENT
BUILT ON COMMUNITY, COMMITTED TO ENGAGEMENT
The Ti Natural Foods Co-op was built by our community and is committed to ongoing community engagement and support.
Here are a few of the ways we engage with the greater Ticonderoga community:
-
Our "Round-Up" Program
-
Mountain Lake Services Workplace Program
-
Ticonderoga Food Pantry
-
Ticonderoga Pumpkin Walk
OUR "ROUND-UP" PROGRAM
Each time a customer shops at the co-op, they have the opportunity to round up their purchase amount to the next dollar. Those round up donations are collected for a month and then go to a community partner chosen by our members.
Some of our recent community partners include The Backpack Program, Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Farm to School Program, Sentinel Growers Garden at Ti High School, Adirondack Harvest, The Montcalm Street Partnership, Ticonderoga Food Pantry, and the Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance.
MOUNTAIN LAKE SERVICES WORKPLACE PROGRAM
The co-op provides valuable volunteer opportunities for workers with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities through our partnership with Mountain Lake Services. Working alongside co-op staff, volunteers develop work, social & communication skills while interacting with staff & customers. Fostering a sense of community involvement with people of all abilities aligns with the co-op’s commitment to be an equitable and inclusive environment.
TICONDEROGA FOOD PANTRY
Each week, a dedicated member volunteer delivers produce and other food products to the Ti Food Pantry. The donations help provide much-needed support to families and individuals in need throughout our community while reducing food waste. In 2023, approximately $ 800 of food was donated to the pantry.
TICONDEROGA PUMPKIN WALK
Each year as part of our town’s Halloween celebration, the co-op works with Ticonderoga schools and the Montcalm Street Partnership to host a Pumpkin Walk for youth & families. It’s an event that brings together families, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the spirit of fall. The Pumpkin Walk features a display of pumpkins carved and decorated by local youth, showcasing their artistic talents. This enchanting event is free for all ages, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the seasonal atmosphere, warm drinks, treats, and more.
